When it comes to innovation, we are probably the cleverest country in the world

Scientist and entrepreneur Sir Ray Avery says that based on the number of inventions per head of population, we are probably the cleverest country in the world: our problem is that we don’t tell anybody how innovative we really are. 

So what do we need to do differently to grow our small, clever businesses?  Should we shout our success from the rooftops?
